ThermoTeam is a joint venture between Saubermacher AG and Holcim and has been active in the processing of non-recyclable, high-energy waste for over 20 years. Our state-of-the-art facility in Retznei, Southern Styria, converts non-recyclable, high-energy waste into high-quality substitute fuels and can reduce the use of fossil fuels in certain industrial applications. <\/p>\n

Since our joint venture was founded in 2002, our secondary fuels have been replacing fossil fuels in industrial processes. Using a transparent methodology, we estimate that we have reduced the amount of coal used by 1.4 million metric tons. At the same time, we promote recycling: Each year, approximately 2,500 metric tons of recyclable materials, such as scrap metal, are sorted and sent for further recycling.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The input for our substitute fuels includes separately collected production waste, non-recyclable plastics and pre-treated waste fractions. These are carefully prepared using a multi-stage technical process – including NIR sorting machines, magnetic separators and air separators.
